I was forwarded a substitute weekly photo challenge invite that originated from Ailsa at Where’s my backpack? The subject is good, providing numerous opportunities for all landscape lovers so I could not resist.
This picture takes me back to my favourite Alpine lake – Lago di Braies.

Wonderful, Paula, the turquoise water is so beautiful. Thanks for joining the party! xxx
Thank you Ailsa
Your photos are trully amazing
and I enjoyed this far more than “official” challenges
Scenic view!
Definitely
Thank you Cardinal!
Excellent! Putting the person in the frame to give a sense of scale is perfect. You did a very good job capturing such a beautiful scene!
I’m like you. I know it’s a good idea to have someone in the photograph to show the scale of a place like this, but I would have been less than thrilled if he was in my photo too. Since he appears to be holding a camera, I bet he was hoping you would get out of the way too
The view was a lot better from where I was standing…
You’ve got the eye and knew where to stand, he didn’t
You have displayed your ability to “see” often enough that I think I am.
I wish to thank my anonymous rater whoever he/she might be
I just like stars
I love how the colors get warmer as you go from top to bottom! Beautiful photo!
Just gorgeous Paula! I hate humans in my frame too, but realise now that they do add to the whole
The WordPress challenge is up now, although I really like Alisa’s! Thanks for stopping by!
It’s always a pleasure
that deserves to hang on a wall
As a matter of effect it hangs
right here on my office wall
Thank you very much Jo
Stunned. Amazing….
Glad you like it so much
It is my favourite lake
Hi Paula, I just put up another photo challenge and would love you to join in! Pass it on, everyone’s welcome. xxx Ailsa http://wheresmybackpack.com/2012/05/18/summer/
I did as you said Ailsa.
Where is this lake? Gorgeous!
This is Braies (Lago di Braies) in Northern Italy, close to the border with Austria
I am glad you are smitten with it as I am. It happend that I saw a photo of it on Flick or some other site years ago, and I immediately decided it would be my next holiday destination and it happens that I visited it twice since then
That`s what I am thinking…someday
I can live here forever . What a beautiful, calm, breathtaking place. I wish I can see more of these gifts of nature in real life. Perhaps it will give me the reflections I need to find answers. Thanks.
You have just discovered my favourite lake
Welcome to my world of reflections
The place is breath taking!
And how about the pic?
It takes talent to capture the place so well! so, I’d say incredibly good!
Thanks sweetie
You don’t look like a witch to me
Reckon I should change my icon to something more sinister?
Is the new one any better?
This is inspiration for great landscape paintings.
Thank you so much Allan. This is the most beautiful lake I’ve ever seen, and I am a “lake” person
