Here comes another month with a new set of words to choose from. I hope you will like my selection and that you will find at least one word to work on. Here it goes:
66 Comments on “THURSDAY’S SPECIAL: PICK A WORD IN APRIL – Y2”
You always do this topic so well Paula – 5 interesting words and great images to accompany them.
I love that last image – I would love to sit on one of those benches right now.
I love the generosity of this challenge! So many ideas to play with. And as always your photos epitomise their word and each gives special pleasures: the colours and geometry of projecting: the dignity and detail of commanding: the serenity of pastoral, so beautifully contained by your composition; the cleverness of convex; and the light and shadow and clouds and mountains a whole symbology of communal.
Meg has said it all, Paula – a fine selection. Am also especially struck by the last photo of the little church and the welcoming seats outside. An excellent ‘communal’: it invites you in.
This one was a challenge…Croatian, Chakavian dialect, (Along the Adriatic, explains popularity in Italy). “Ja san rojen da mi bude lipo” (I am born to have a good life by Tonči Huljić and Madre Badessa). Simple folk lyrics about being in love, and praying to mother Mary to have the attentions of the loved one. There is an innocence in folk music I miss. A beautiful piece Paula thank you for sharing as always.
Fab shots as always Paula, I love the eagle owl (?) such a lovely bird. I’m sticking with Barcelona this week and hopefully have two of the words covered 🙂
Hope you are having a good week!
Jude xx
Yes, it is the eagle owl – the most impressive of owls 🙂 It was caged in and was not allowed to fly, but I asked the falconer to open the gate to her cage. Thank you for your nice visit, and your beautiful offering. I am having an OK week, busy, with a touch of hay fever and other nuisances, but in high spirits. xx
Love that all-seeing owl, Paula, and I wouldn’t mind being communal on one of those benches. Though actually we were exploring this morning and out with the neighbours for supper. 🙂 🙂
Paula great words as always and your images describe them well. Especially that owl. Your communal church where pastoral care is given in the pastures also makes me want to sit on the bench with Debbie.
Beijo.

How did I turn arresting into commanding?? The answer probably lies in that magnificent photo.

A pastor? Ok, that will give you pastor-al, arresting and a convex, and he will serve the community too. How about projecting?
