Guardians of our security

always at the ready
These photos are so powerful.
Nice to see a different view of Venice, Paula. A real city – and sadly a view we see around the world these days

Is this the norm? Or was an event going to happen. Do you know Paula?
I like the first photo – really powerful as it suggests the police are a part of the environment.
I captured these two years ago during some demonstrations, but this March there were some troubles too with attempted robberies and later on when I had already left some suspects were arrested on the suspicion of a planned attack.

It is good to see police presence during this time – it shows that the government is willing to do something to protect the citizens.
We’re becoming accustomed to military forces mixed together with famous landscapes and work of Art…….
Your pics are really stunning, anyway! Fantastic takes, Paula…
Grazie Anna. E vero.
Excellent respons for the theme. Have the pleasure visiting Venice a lot of times. Never felt fear at all… 🙂
Nicely done as always, modern interpretation of Bella Ciao, first sung as a 1943-1945 Italian anti- fascist movement anthem.
Here is the original

Thank you 🙂
We’ll look out for these focused warriors when we head that way in May.
Is this normal in Venice or was something happening that they have the riot shields at the ready. It might give the residents of Venice a sense of security but it puts a real sense of unease into my being.
