It’s time for another Traces of the Past theme and this month it shall be in colour. Peeking through bleak and bare trees and nature’s monochrome there is a beautiful Neogothic Parish church of Bled. Not one’s typical view of that enchanting Slovenian town, but the one I thought you might enjoy. For once I decided to show you an example from not so distant past as this church was built in the early 20th century. You have a week to post your entries for this photo challenge. In the meantime I wish you a happy Thursday and a great weekend!

Bleakly beautiful, Paula! The wind is whistling around behind me and I fear there’s more snow on the way. π¦ My Monday’s post would have been perfect for this challenge, but Monday’s gone, and today’s is not such a good fit. I’ll love you and leave you, for now. Take care! π π
Such a beautiful wintry scene combining the harshness of winter and the beauty of the scene. Love this, Paula, together with the music you have chosen! π
Oh Paula, your photo is just so perfect. I just love it so much.

Such a lovely wintry photograph of the delightful St Martin’s church. I have a similar view of it in the heat of the summer, just love the roof tiles! Very pretty inside too. Bled is a lovely place.
Hello Paula- it is Wednesday afternoon and I am sitting home while the snow piles up outside.. oh where is spring? I had an incident at work last week that threw me for a loop- hence my lateness. Here it is https://dailymusing57.com/2018/03/21/thursdays-special-traces-of-the-past-12/
I hope you are well β€

I have never seen it so close. I agree with Marilyn, it reminded me of an illustration in a fairy tale book.

This composition has the feeling of an ‘Old Flemish’ oil painting, Paula. The detail is breathtaking.

Beautiful image Paula π
The colorful roof tops looks great with snow all around.
I have seen many an images from Bled before, most of them showcasing the beauty of the lake and this one is different.
Thank you for sharing and great to be in touch again π

That’s a great shot Paula – the snow seems to emphasis its age in some way.
I haven’t gone far back this time either – just a century: https://travelwithintent.com/2018/03/21/colourful-view-of-the-past/
And I loved your music as always – it is perfect accompaniment to pondering the past of that church.
